Mojgahn Emamjomeh was introduced to dance at a young age with Persian dance classes. Her love for dance grew as she took other genres of dance and became greatly involved in her middle and high school dance programs. Mojgahn received her Bachelors in Dance and Communications from Cal State Fullerton and, upon graduation, worked in television production. In 2014, she accepted the opportunity to teach middle school dance at her alma mater, Singapore American School, where she realized dance education was her calling. Since receiving her Masters in Education from Pepperdine University, Mojgahn has taught dance at a variety of public schools and continues her dance training around Los Angeles. Mojgahn’s work as an artist, educator and advocate for the arts in schools is inspired by her belief that dance can have a formative impact on students’ expressive, creative, athletic, and social experiences. Although this is Mojgahn's first year teaching at Burbank High School, she did her student teaching here with Amanda Sandifer as her mentor and stayed connected with the BHS dance program by teaching workshops and working with Unleashed. Mojgahn feels lucky to be at school where dance is appreciated school wide and in the Burbank community.
